I saw
this post on the Daily Dish and he continues to intermix two separate incidents that occurred at Abu Ghuraib; the alleged officially sanctioned "torture" and the nutbars run amok from the 372d MP Cos night shift that were reported to CID and was under investigation long before CBS got wind of it. The confusion is understandable as this is the MSM's template in order to discredit President Bush and undermine the mission ala Vietnam. What Sullivan doesn't get is that the two were really unrelated. This is proven by the fact that the soldiers charged were all on one shift where supervision was scant and that the orders logs don't support SSG Fredricksons and SPC Graners excuse that they were ordered to do what they did. If what Andrew postulates was correct, then we would have seen more soldiers involved from ALL shifts. There very well may have been questionable or illegal techniques used at Abu Ghuraib, but what Graner, etc were doing wasn't a part of that; they were just being sadists and thought they could get away with it.
